Beck Malenstyen Scores First Career Goal

Beck Malenstyen is the latest Capitals player to score his first career goal, as he netted one against the Panthers on Tuesday that gave the Caps a 2-0 lead in the first period. Other Caps to score their first NHL goals this season are Hendrix Lapierre, Martin Fehervary, Brett Leason, Connor McMichael, Garrett Pilon and Aliaksei Protas.

Only three other times in Caps history has the team had more than seven first-time NHL goal-scorers, including their inaugural season in 1974-75 when they had 14, 1981-82 when they had 10, and 1979-1980 when they had eight. Two other times they also had seven, in the 1989-90, and more recently, 2013-14, on a team which included Tom Wilson and Evgeny Kuznetsov. Here is the complete list:
