The #CakeItLikeAKidChallenge is the new Ice Bucket Challenge, apparently, and I learned this via T.J. Oshie, who had his daughters smash cake over his head… for charity. This one benefits Pediatric Cancer research. I might just skip the caking and donate directly.
“The girls wanted to get involved in the #Cakeitlikeakid Challenge,” Oshie said on Twitter. “Challenge your friends and family and let’s raise as much awareness and money as we can for these charities to help these brave kids fight cancer. Donate here bit.ly/cakeitlikeakid and let’s make a difference.”
Oshie said he was challenged by former Caps teammate Karl Alzner. He then nominated Nicklas Backstrom, John Carlson, Jeremy Roenick, Danny Kristo, Brad Miller and his sister to do the same challenge. Expect countless tweets and blog posts of hockey players and others smashing cake over their heads. Actor Kevin Bacon is leading this initiative.
