Lars Eller Stanley Cup Bobblehead Review

(Caps Outsider)

The Washington Capitals are Stanley Cup Champions and that means one thing… WE GET BOBBLEHEADS! As we detailed already, there are going to be 24 Stanley Cup-themed bobbleheads, produced by FOCO, available come September. Since that’s still a ways away we thought it would be fun to spend that time taking a closer look at each bobblehead included in this lineup.

The Capitals needed a hero and that is exactly what Lars Eller was during the 2018 Stanley Cup playoffs. When we were down 0-2 to the Columbus Blue Jackets in the first round of the playoffs and Game 3 went to overtime, Lars Eller scored the OTGWG to spark a 4 game winning streak that would move the Capitals on to the second round. When Nicklas Backstrom went down with a hand injury and missed 4 straight playoff games, Lars Eller filled his role putting up 5 points in 4 games helping the Caps to wins in 3 of those 4 games. But, most memorable of all, when the Capitals were tied 3 to 3 in the potential Stanley Cup clinching game, Lars Eller scored the GWG with less than 8 minutes left which would lift the Capitals to their first Stanley Cup in franchise history.

Lars Eller always has a gentle “happy to be here” smirk just as you see here. Combine that with his blonde beard and, to us, that’s just enough to capture the likeness of the first Danish Stanley Cup Champion in NHL history.

You can order this, and many others, from the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum.
