Puck Surprise Winners Meet Barry Trotz

The Caps held their annual Spring Puck Surprise fundraiser on Thursday, with the winners getting to meet Caps coach Barry Trotz.

Trotz not only signed pucks and posed for photos, but encouraged a question and answer session with the fans afterward, discussing virtually everything from the playoffs, Nashville GM David Poile, Alex Ovechkin’s pursuit of 50 goals, and playing on bad ice sometimes.

The USA Hockey Warriors also took the opportunity to present Trotz with a jersey (photo below) and a Challenge Coin (Trotz said he’s got a bunch of those). The Warriors were supposed to present it to him a day before the Stadium Series but the wind cancelled those events.

This year’s fundraiser raised $15,440 for the Monumental Sports and Entertainment Foundation.
