1st Period:

The period went with zero penalties all period.  Vitek Vanecek made many good saves to keep the Bears in the game early.  Springfield did get one past however.  Anthony Greco would find himself alone in front of the easy goal.  This was his 26th goal of the season.

The Bears would have to figure out the Thunder Bird forecheck if they want to get back into the game.

SPR Goal – 17:44 – Anthony Greco (26), Assist(s): Chase Balisy (19), Ryan Horvat (16)

2nd Period:

This is the period that everything broke open.  Nathan Walker would open up the scoring 52 seconds into the frame.  The shot was a wrap around  that found its way through the pads of Springfield’s goalie, Samuel Montembeault.

Springfield would answer fairly quick when Dryden Hunt would score off of a face off that was won by Jayce Hawryluk.

Hershey would cash in less than two minutes later while short handed as Dustin Gazley would wrist one on net and beat Montembeault glove side.  This was Gazley’s 9th goal of the season.

Less than one minute after that, Nathan Walker would score again off of a nice pass from Lucas Johansen.

This is where the interesting topic of the night would come in.  Chris Bourque would land a major penalty and a game misconduct for a dirty retaliation hit.  He would Springfield’s Tim Erixon from behind while leaving his feet.  This will likely end in a suspension.

Wayne Simpson would score his 13th of the year.  He was standing in the slot when a great pass from Liam O’Brien found its way to Simpson.
