The Stingrays went a perfect 3-0 this week, which gives them a chance to secure a playoff spot if they win all three games at North Charleston Coliseum.

In the first game, a late third period goal from Danny Federico gave the Stingrays a 3-2 win over the Norfolk Admirals. Dylan Margonari and Tim McGauley also scored goals for South Carolina in the victory, while goaltender Jeff Jakaitis made 30 saves to pick up his 14th win of the year.

In Friday’s 1-0 win over the Brampton Beast, Jakaitis got his 25th career shutout, tying the ECHL record. Taylor Cammarata scored the only goal of the game, his 34th of the year.

Saturday, the Stingrays’ offense came alive for five goals. Parker Milner stopped 45 shots in the win. Four Stingrays had multi-point nights. McGauley and Paul Geiger also had a goal and an assist, while Steven Whitney added two assists. Captain Joe Devin had a goal and assist to set a new career high in points for a season with 43.

The week ahead: The Stingrays play three games this week, and if they win them all, they will secure a spot in the Kelly Cup Playoffs. The Stingrays visit the Cincinnati Cyclones (7:35) on Wednesday before traveling to Toledo for Friday and Saturday games at 7:15.
