As part of Hockey is for Everyone Month, the Capitals on Tuesday hosted an auction which supports You Can Play, an organization dedicated to helping the LGBTQ hockey community.
This consisted of using rainbow-colored ‘Pride Tape’ on their sticks during warm-ups. The sticks and other items were then auctioned off, with the proceeds going to benefit You Can Play, which ensures “equality, respect and safety for all athletes, coaches and fans, without regard to sexual orientation and/or gender identity.”
