Puck Surprise Winners Meet T.J. Oshie

Photos by Caps Outsider

He may be out with an “upper body” injury, but that didn’t stop Caps winger T.J. Oshie from meeting up with five lucky fans after the game on Tuesday, three of whom were already wearing Oshie jerseys.

The Caps hold the ‘puck surprise’ or ‘pick-a-stick’ a couple of times a season to raise money for the MSE Foundation. Each fan, at the minimum, gets an autographed puck and a bag of M&M’s.

(Winners – please e-mail me for more photos!)

The winners:

  • Julie Vuillemot, from Virginia. She’s been a season ticket holder for 7 years.
  • Emmalynn May, from Maryland.
  • Cambria Baylor, from Hagerstown, Maryland.
  • Shawn Harrington, from Washington D.C.
  • Sarah Murphy, from Baltimore.

While it was special for all of these fans and their companions to meet Oshie, Harrington had an even extra special evening. Harrington, who is deaf, couldn’t speak to Oshie but wrote him a message. He shared it with us:

“You have been my favorite player for a while. You joining the Caps was the best thing that happened. Keep doing what you do. #rockthered”

Oshie reads the message from Harrington.
