A group of referees attended the Capitals/Blackhawks game Wednesday, chanting “YOU CAN’T DO THAT! YOU CAN’T DO THAT!” after each penalty and emphatically pointing at the net after each goal. It was moderately amusing, assuming you’re a referee or referee supporter. They were indeed real refs (some of whom have called penalties on yours truly during beer league games), as the drunken belligerence and argumentative nature took over Capital One Arena, at least in that section.
