Caps Prospect Adam Carlson Out With Lower Body Injury

In Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Gladiators, goalie Adam Carlson left in the second period due to a “lower body injury.” Carlson is in his second professional year after being signed after his freshman year at Mercyhurst. A timetable was not given for his injury, but “it’s long enough to put him out the minimum 21 days on the IR” according to the Stingrays.

Carlson also suffered an injury last year that caused him to miss significant time, but he used that as a learning experience. I am told this injury has nothing to do with his injury from last season.

Carlson spent a good amount of time in the AHL early this season while both Pheonix Copley and Vitek Vanecek were both hurt where he went 2-2-0 with a .903 save percentage and a 3.03 goals against average. He was injured in his first ECHL game of the season. He saved 17 of 19 shots he saw before leaving due to his injury.
