John Erskine Has Chickens

(via John Erskine)

Former Caps defenseman John Erskine played eight seasons in Washington, but injuries derailed his career and he spent his final season in Washington watching from the press box. When he played, he was a fan favorite. HeĀ dropped the gloves when he had to (with the tune ‘Big John’ playing over the speakers at Verizon Center), and scored a dozen goals.

Since he retired from hockey, he and his wife have been raising their children (his older son plays youth hockey). Most recently, he’s installed a chicken coop and posted some photos on Instagram.
