Budweiser’s #LightUpDC Cups

The first 10,000 fans (21 and over) received a free Budweiser cup at tonight’s Capitals game. Did the cup come full of Budweiser beer? Nope. Did it entitle those fans to any free beer? Nope. But it was still among the most coveted items we’ve ever seen given away at a capitals game. We’ll allow Rod Langway to explain in the video below :

Oh! Magical goal light cup is magical! Whenever the Capitals score a goal, it lights up red. It also lights up before each period, and when the fans scream “RED” during the national anthem. Here is how it looks all lit up :

This is the first time the Red Light Cups have been available in the United States, and they are absolutely perfect for rocking the red in DC.  The first 10,000 were free, but if you didn’t get one they’ll be available for sale at concession stands at remaining playoff home games.

Want to celebrate goals at home with your new fancy Budweiser cup?

Bring the cup home, download the Budweiser Red Light app on iOS or Android, sync up the cup to your phone, and celebrate each goal at home!

While we definitely appreciate the novelty of these cups, we’re holding out for a much more important cup this season.
