Caps forward Stansilav Galiev has cleared waivers and will report to Hershey. Galiev, along with Paul Carey, Brad Malone, and Christian Thomas were all put on waivers and all cleared.

Galiev has a total of 54 points in a total of 88 career games with the Hershey Bears. Galiev, 24, will be a restricted free agent at the end of this season.

Barry Trotz said yesterday that, “We need him to play. If I have 12 forwards, he wouldn’t be in there.”

The important thing for Galiev is that he plays. In Hershey, Galiev will likely be seeing top six minutes and probably some power play time. His future with the Capitals organization, however, is questionable at this point.
