Rockin’ the Red Rhyming Recap

We’re running this photo because it’s adorable. (Caps Outsider)

Twas’ the last preseason game…  Caps were hosting the Isles.

All the bugs needed worked out…  It was the last of the trials.

All the games from now on… would be the real deal.

That’s why Sunday night’s game… had a real-season feel.

When before I could even cozy into my seat,

Andre Burakovsky had Jaroslav Halak beat!

The Capitals had taken an early 1-0 lead,

And their goaltender, Holtby, looked quite sharp indeed.

Period 1 ended with the Caps leading the game.

Fans hoped the next would bring even more of the same.

Period 2 began very quiet and lazy.

Then, Lars Eller scored… and Caps fans went crazy!

And it ended with Ovi… scoring a power play goal.

With the score 3-0… the Caps were on quite a roll!

Then, T.J. Oshie scored in period three.

Adding to the Caps lead so handily!

The Caps won 4-0.  It had Washingtonians spinning.

First the Skins, then the Nats, it topped a trifecta of winning.

Now, on to the season opener.  It’s time to begin.

Caps fans are ready so, Let’s Go Caps! Win!
