Stanislav Galiev Released From Camp, Put On Waivers

Caps forward Stanislav Galiev was among four players released from training camp and put on waivers Saturday. The others are Paul Carey, Christian Thomas, and Brad Malone. All players must clear waivers before they report to Hershey.

Galiev being demoted might be the end of his time with the organization. Caps GM Brian MacLellan said he was not ready to cut the cord yet on him after last season. MacLellan said it was “A tough situation for Stan and for us.”

Galiev recorded three total points in 24 games with the Caps last season, all assists. Galiev was sent to Hershey for a conditioning stint and recorded three points in five games, all of them goals.

Galiev has one year left on his contract at $575,000 and will be a RFA next year.
