Hershey Bears Sign Five More Players

The Hershey Bears have made more moves today re-signing Joey Leach, and signing Hubert Labrie, Dominic Monarado, Parker Milner, and Colby Williams to one-year AHL contracts for the 2016-2017 season.

Leach spent most of the season with the South Carolina Stingrays, playing in 58 games while accumulating 17 points (6 goals, 11 assists). Leach also saw action in six games with the bears adding three assists to his point total for the season.

Forward Dominic Monardo spent last season with the Springfield Falcons. This is not Monardo’s first stint with the Bears. He was part of the Reading Royals his first time around with the organization.

(Hershey, PA – July 7, 2016) – The Hershey Bears have re-signed defenseman Joey Leach and forward Domenic Monardo to a one-year American Hockey League (AHL) contracts for 2016-2017 season. Both players are returning members of the organization from last season.

Leach, 24, spent the last four season in the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) and AHL. This will be his second season with the Bears organization as last season he played 58 games with the South Carolina Stingrays and 6 with the Bears. Another Saskatchewan native, Leach was drafted #73 in round 3 of the 2010 NHL draft.

Monardo comes from the Springfield Falcons organization, where he played for the past two seasons. The 27-year-old, 5’10, 187-pound Monardo was part of the Hershey Bears organization during the 2013-2014 season when he played for the Reading Royals. That season he played a career-high of 70 games.

Defenseman Hubert Labrie spent time with both the San Antonio Rampage and Chicago Wolves last season. Labrie had a combined 11 points last season.

Colby Williams, defense, will be joining the Bears after spending six seasons with the Regina Pats in the WHL. In 19 games with the Pats, Williams posted 12 points (5 goals, 7 assists).

Goalie Parker Milner spent time with the Missouri Mavericks (ECHL) and Bridgeport Sound Tigers (AHL) last season. Milner posted a 2.17 GAA with a record of 17-7-1 with the Mavericks.

(Hershey, PA – July 7, 2016) – The Hershey Bears announced today the team has signed defensemens Hubert Labrie and Colby Williams, along with goalie Parker Milner to one-year American Hockey League (AHL) contracts.

Labrie started his professional career with the Texas Stars organization in 2011-2012. The 5’11-foot, 194-pound Quebec native, who is also 24, played with 50 games with the San Antonio Rampage in the first part of last season. Labrie finished the season playing for the Chicago Wolves.

Williams, 24, comes from six seasons with the Regina Pats of the Western Hockey League (WHL). The 6-foot, 195-pound Williams appeared in 211 games. In the 2014-2015 season, he scored a career-high 11 goals and earned 30 assists. The Saskatchewan native was drafted 173rd overall in round six of the 2015 National Hockey League (NHL) draft by the Washington Capitals.

Milner, 25, has spent his last three years in the ECHL and AHL. The Boston College graduate has had 16 shutouts in his career and has played in 236 games. The 6.1-foot, 187-pound goalie is a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
