Poor Paul Carey. Just a few weeks ago, he scored his first career goal while up with the Caps before being sent back to Hershey. Now, according to the Bears, he’ll miss the remainder of the season due to shoulder surgery.

HERSHEY, Pa. – The Hershey Bears announced today that forward Paul Carey will miss the remainder of the 2015-16 season and any subsequent playoffs following successful shoulder surgery. The announcement was made by Bears president/general manager Doug Yingst.
The 27-year-old Carey suffered the injury on February 10, finished the game, but has not appeared in the lineup since.
“I tore my labrum last week against Bridgeport,” Carey said. “The best thing to do was to go under the knife right away and get the surgery done. I did that right here in Hershey and everything went well. I have five to six months before I can play hockey again.”
The surgery was performed by Dr. Aman Dhawan at the Penn State Hershey Bone and Joint Institute on Friday, February 19, per the recommendation of team physician Dr. Kevin Black.
The 6-0, 175-pound native of Boston, Massachusetts ranks fourth on the Bears in scoring with 31 points (13 goals, 18 assists) in 44 games. He earned a four-game recall to the Washington Capitals and scored his first NHL goal on February 6 against the New Jersey Devils.
