Prepare Your Staches! For Movember Is Here!

The Capitals gave their annual November announcement: The team is going to grow their hilarious mustaches once again.

This year, Karl Alzner, Tom Wilson, Andre Burakovsky, John Carlson, Michael Latta, T.J. Oshie, Philipp Grubauer, Stanislav Galiev, Nate Schmidt and Chandler Stephenson are all committing to the hairy cause.

In addition to the growth of a mustache, Wilson will provide a “Daily Mo Diary,” and we will have regular mustache-related updates on Alzner’s always impressive mustache.

The Caps are growing their staches for Movember to raise awareness to mens health. The Movember Foundation has raised more than $650 million since 2003. The program is focused on “raising awareness and education, living with and beyond cancer and research to achieve a permanent impact on the face of men’s health.”

This year, at the end of November, three awards will be given out, each named after a famous Caps mustache. The Yvon Labre Award is given to the fan who raises the most money, The Dennis Maruk Award for the most money raised by a player, and The Rod Langway Award, given to a fan that Alzner picks as his favorite #CapsMo of the month.
