Festivities, Freebies, and Fun! Caps 2015-16 Promotions Schedule Released

#Holtbeast Giveaway Night on Feb. 26 (Caps Outsider)

Looks like not all the excitement will be on the ice this season during Caps home games. The Capitals organization has just released their 2015-2016 promotions schedule and fans are in for some goodies.

Halloween is always a trilling time of year, and on Oct. 30 when the Caps take on Blue Jackets, all the ghouls will be out at Verizon Center. Fans can join the Red Rockers spirit squad for a Red Rockers Halloween celebration.  Fans can dress up and show their spookiest, kookiest team spirit.

November brings “Movember.” Fans can grow a mustache to raise awareness for men’s health. Movember is the annual charity event that engages men to grow, and women to support, a Mo for the 30 days of November to raise awareness and funds for men’s health issues including prostate and testicular cancer and mental health. Supporters, called Mo Bros and Mo Sistas, get friends, family and colleagues to donate to their efforts along the way. Participants begin with a clean shaven face on Nov. 1, and then grow and groom a mustache for the next 30 days. Players and fans alike participate. The charitable campaign lasts the entire month.  November also hosts Veterans Day Recognition Night presented by Boeing on the Nov. 7 (Caps vs. Maple Leafs), Kids Day on Nov. 21 (Caps vs. Avalanche) and Red Rockers Thanksgiving on Nov. 25 (Caps vs. Jets).

There’s fun for the whole family on December 18 (Caps vs. Lightning) when fans can pose for their holiday photos with Slapshot Santa. Slapshot also hosts Slapshot New Years Eve on Dec. 30 (Caps vs. Sabres). The Caps fine feathered mascot will also host Kid’s Day on Feb.7 (Caps vs. Flyers)

Fans can join the Caps for Hockey is for Everyone Night on Feb. 24 when they take on the Canadians. Hockey is for Everyone™ (HIFE) is the National Hockey League’s official youth development program. HIFE provides support and unique programming to non-profit youth hockey organizations across North America that are committed to offering children of all backgrounds opportunities to play hockey.

No one will want to miss #Holtbeast Giveaway Night presented by Verizon on Feb. 26 (Caps vs. Wild). Fans should stay tuned for more info on this exciting event.

Fan Appreciation Day is a big deal at Verizon Center! This season it will be held on March 26 (Caps vs. Blues).  That game also boasts Kuznetsov Statue Giveaway Presented by Capital One Bank.

Of course, there will also be the ongoing events throughout the season like Caps Third Jersey presented by Boeing, Family Pack Nights, T-Shirt Pack Nights and anyone with a student ID will want to take advantage of The Caps Student Rush program which is available for select games throughout the regular season. Anyone with a valid student ID can purchase mezzanine level tickets for $30 (based on availability) and receive a coupon for a FREE Original Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich Meal *to be redeemed at a Chick-Fil-A location outside of Verizon Center.

Conspicuously absent from this season’s promotions list are the very popular Pick-A-Stick and Puck Surprise Nights. Fans will have to check back to see if those charitable events are added later but it looks like there’s a lot of fun to be had and, of course, some awesome hockey!
