After 78 days, it’s finally here. The American Hockey League announced their long-awaited 2015-2016 regular season schedule. This is the AHL’s 80th season and the Hershey Bears’ 78th. With the new division alignment, the Bears will see many familiar rivalries in addition to new ones.

The season opens October 10 with a four-game road trip featuring matches against Springfeild, two against Portland, and one more against Utica, last year’s Western Conference Champions, over an eight day span. Hershey first plays at the Giant Center October 24 at 7:00 PM, opening a weekend series against the Hartford Wolf Pack. Of the 76 game schedule, 48 will be played against teams from the realigned Atlantic Division and 28 aginst the new North Division. There are no games against the Western Conference this regular season.

The Bears will have four chances to exact revenge on the Wolf Pack for eliminating them in last year’s Calder Cup Playoffs. It should come as no surprise that Hershey will play the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, of the Philadelphia Flyers’ system, and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, of the Penguins’ system, 12 times each. Binghamton, affiliates of the Ottawa Senators, play the second most games against Hershey with eight.

In the only morning game of the season, Hershey will play the Bridgeport Sound Tigers in Bridgeport at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 4th. New Year’s Eve celebrations will start early as Hershey host Lehigh Valley for a 5:00 PM puck drop. Hershey will play Super Bowl Sunday (February 7th) at 2:00 PM against the Binghamton Senators. To counter the four-game road trip at the start of the season, the chocolate and white will play four of their last six at home, including two home and one away agianst Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Hershey ends the season with a 5:00 PM home game agaisnt Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Sunday, April 17.

Season ticket holders can start purchasing additional tickets Wenesday, September 23 at 10:00 AM and individual tickets will go for general sale Monday, September 28 at 10:00 AM.
