Andre Burakovsky Finally Wins an Honest Abe

Andre Burakovsky played 53 games for the Capitals this year, making him the only regular – besides Karl Alzner – not to win the coveted Honest Abe award after the game.

But with the only two Caps goals in the 2-1 Game 4 win Wednesday, plus a great defensive effort, Burakovsky finally donned the hat and fake beard.

Burakovsky said that he praised his teammates in his postgame speech, especially Holtby. He also said that about half his teammates goof on him for his inability to grow much facial hair for his playoff beard.

Barry Trotz also praised the 20 year old rookie after the game, talking at length about him. Trotz even said that earlier this season, he told Burakovsky that he wouldn’t be in the lineup if he didn’t start smiling more.
