Kablooey! Penalty or No Penalty, Tom Wilson’s Hit Rocked

Tom Wilson took his second consecutive penalty in the second period Tuesday after leveling Islander Lubomir Visnovsky. Though we believe the hit was clean, refs often penalize plays like this because it’s easy to. It would’ve been hard for them not to call a penalty, especially with Visnovsky hurt (and may he get well – I don’t root for players to get injured). And you know what? I’d rather a penalty happen like this than, say, Alex Ovechkin‘s tripping call, Mike Green‘s puck over the glass or Wilson’s… kneeing.

Forget the overtime goal. THIS was the play of the game.
