Niskanen Bobbleheads Arrive on Time!

For the first time in four Inova Blood Drives, the bobblehead promised to be given away to each donor will be available the day of the drive. A few days ago, the Washington Capitals put up a photo on Instagram of Matt Niskanen holding his bobblehead, and Inova confirmed that the rest of the bobbleheads made it over as well. So now after you give blood on January 31st, you won’t be leaving without a bobblehead in your hand!

Although the bobbleheads have arrived and that’s a reason to celebrate, we need to have a little talk with all of you bobblehead enthusiasts and blood donors. All 800 blood donation appointments have been filled – which is great – but it’s only half of the challenge. The other half is making sure all 800 of those donors show up. Typically around 200 people who schedule appointments fail to show up. That’s a potential of 600 lives that could be saved. We can’t stress enough that you please show up for your appointment, and if you can’t we ask you make your time slot available to somebody who can. If we can get all 800 blood donors to show up for the blood drive next Saturday we could see one of the largest Caps blood drives in the history of their partnership with Inova.

So we are looking forward to seeing you on January 31st when we drop off some blood and pick up a bobblehead, all for a great cause!
