Joel Ward Bobblehead Looks Better than Joel Ward
All pictures via the Caps.
Back in March, Inova Blood Donor Services announced that the next Washington Capitals Blood Drive would be Capitals forward Joel Ward. Today, we got photos of it. Needless to say, this bobblehead bears a striking resemblance to Ward, arguably the most accurate-looking wobbler of any Caps bobblehead yet.
As Inova had hinted at before, Ward is in an action pose instead of the stand-at-attention pose, making this the first action-posed bobble given out by Inova since July of 2012 when Matt Hendricks was the eye-catching piece. As he stands over top the Inova sign on the base, with one skate in front and one behind, he has both hands on the stick as he looks like he’s preparing to receive a pass. The overall mold of the bobble looks to be sufficiently detailed and very clean cut. The one area that seems to make or break a bobblehead, the face, is the most eye-catching part as it looks as though you’re looking at the real Joel Ward himself. He has a big smile on his face and some nice scruff that he frequently has in real life.
Inova looks to be opting to stay with the company Bobble Factory to once again produce their bobbles and it seems that the face improves each time.
As for getting one? There are still plenty of spots left, just over 260, so hurry up and schedule your appointment. Now let’s just hope this bobblehead doesn’t get delayed so we can own this beauty on July 26th!
