Backstrom Bobblehead Delayed Due to Weather and U.S. Customs

Nicklas Backstrom just can’t catch a break. (Caps Outsider)

First he missed Sweden’s Olympics medal game due to allergy medication, and now this.

Saturday is the 2014 Winter Inova Blood Drive. Unfortunately, Inova released some very sad news, saying that the Nicklas Backstrom bobblehead promised to all donors would be delayed due to “winter weather challenges, along with the unforeseen delivery delays in U.S. Customs.” Last year, the Braden Holtby bobblehead was delayed as well, but for a very different reason: A stick shipping mishap.

However, don’t fret because Inova has gone far enough to include not only a t-shirt for each donor, but also a Washington Capitals cup and hat, plus a voucher to redeem for the Backstrom bobble. The details have yet to be released on how exactly to redeem the voucher, but it will be provided at the blood drive. Although you won’t be getting you Backstrom bobblehead on time, you will still be getting even more cool Caps stuff which more than makes up for the delay. So until tomorrow Caps fans will be sure to keep you updated on what’s going to happen with yet another bobblehead conundrum!
