Collectible Souvenir Soda Cups!
The Capitals are trailing the Penguins 3-0 heading into the 3rd period, so during the second intermission we thought we’d take a stroll down to check out what else was going on in the arena. Magically, tonight is the season debut of Collectible Souvenir Soda Cups! Back when I was a kid, I remember actually being interested in such things, and saving my cups whenever I attended games. Kids these days have iPads, so we doubt a plastic cup still excites them, but there must be some reason these things are still produced. Oh yeah, Money.
Tonight marks the debut of the 1st of 4 collectible souvenir soda cups that we will be available at Capitals and Wizards games this year. Alex Ovechkin is leading off the series tonight as the feature player which can be purchased at all concessions stands on the 100 and 400 levels selling fountain soda drinks.
Collect them all! Trade with your friends! The cup will set you back $8, and for that you get it filled with
your favorite soft drink, errrrr, Pepsi product and ice… but mostly ice. They will refill it once for free, but only today, because they have some way of tracking that. It’s a cool looking cup though, and it will find a place of honor on my shelf, right next to my Dino Ciccarelli cup from 1990.
