Matthew Barnaby Has ‘No Problem’ With Ray Emery’s Actions

“Keep away! I’m going to allow this assault to continue!”

After Ray Emery attacked Braden Holtby in the Capitals’ 7-0 shellacking of the Philadelphia Flyers on Friday, retired NHL pest and current radio host Mathew Barnaby took to Twitter to defend Emery.

“I said basically ‘protect yourself’. He didn’t really have much of a choice.” Emery told Frank Seravalli, a writer for the Philadelphia Daily News who also gave Emery a third star of the game. And THAT was Barnaby’s biggest problem. Got it.

Then again, let’s consider the source. Barnaby has had run-ins with the law, including arrests for domestic violence (sound familiar?) and DWI, and has been ordered to attend anger management.
