IT’S BEAD NIGHT AT VERIZON CENTER!!!!

Photos by Caps Outsider

For those of you who didn’t make it to the Washington Capitals game against the New York Rangers at Verizon Center on Wednesday, you lost. Even the foul-mouthed, belligerent, and ignorant Rangers fans had it better than Caps fans who opted to watch the game at home. Why? Because it was bead night, fools.

That’s right, fans in attendance got Mardi-Gras style Rock the Red beads (sponsored, of course, by Comcast SportsNet), something that caught them entirely by surprise, since it wasn’t listed on the Caps’ promotional schedule, like those silly bobbleheads, or Hockey Fights Cancer Night. So this just goes to show that even if no tsotchkes are listed on the schedule, show up anyway, you’ll never know what the Caps have got in store for you.

These will be fetching $30-$40 on eBay after teh game, for sure.

Eat your heart out Mardi Gras, D.C.'s got you beat tonight.
