Walker-Wilson Goal Makes SportsCenter Top 10

Smile, Tom, you made ESPN (Caps Outsider file photo)

Who says ESPN doesn’t care about hockey?

Tom Wilson‘s goal in Tuesday’s 3-2 shootout loss to the Bruins in Baltimore made ESPN’s Top 10 plays, coming in at number 8. Unfortunately, few folks outside of Washington, relatively speaking, have even heard of Wilson or Australian prospect Nathan Walker, who notched the assist, so it likely left many ESPN watchers scratching their head saying “Who?” and “Who cares?”

But it’s a nice treat for Caps fans, not to mention Wilson’s Plymouth Whalers fans and Australian ice hockey fans who are following Walker’s every move.

Here’s the goal and ESPN’s oh-so clever commentary.

And here’s the goal without ESPN’s commentary.
