After a long summer, hockey is back in Washington. Well, sort of. Arlington. The Flyers rookies come to Kettler Capitals Iceplex on Monday, facing off against the Capitals rookies to conclude camp.

The Caps started off the game with solid goaltending by Brandon Anderson, including two incredible saves in the first period. The first period was very physical, including two fights. Halfway through the game, both teams put in their respective backup goalies.

In the end, the Flyers and the Caps got into four fights, with Tom Wilson in two of them. Caps head coach Adam Oates said he did not want a rodeo, but the game stayed physical. Flyer Taylor Leier, who is a cousin of Caps prospect Boston Leier, scored in the second period for the only goal of the game.

Oates answered questions about Wilson’s first -period fight. “Its part of the territory,” he said, also adding, “When you go out there and the intensity is up and someone bangs you, you get mad at someone, he wants to show his boss, he wants to show the reason he is who he is.”

Wilson tweeted after the game:

But this was hardly the worst part of Wilson’s day:
