Caps Outsider reflects on how Dennis Maruk came to Washington.
Elliot Segal Working at Caps Store
DC101’s Elliot in the Morning host Elliot Segal is filmed at the team store Tuesday.
Posing as an overzealous sales representative for the Team Store at the Verizon Center before the Caps-Bruins match-up, DC 101 morning jock Elliott Segal was working hard to sell Washington Capitals memorabilia to enthusiastic fans. When asked what was the best-seller on Tuesday, Segal, who wanted to be known as simply ‘Elliot S. the sales rep.’ replied, “Everything, just everything! Jerseys, t-shirts, caps, you name it, especially green items for St. Patricks Day!” Candice, the manager, declined to comment saying that employees are not supposed to talk to the media about merchandise, sales, etc. Segal apparently didn’t get that memo.
Segal was at the Verizon Center to promote his appearance on Caps Red Line which will air at 2:00 Monday, March 11th on the Monumental Network, developed by Washington Capitals owner Ted Leonsis. With the help of local celebrities, like Segal, he hopes the venture will eventually turn into a cable television network.
