Tonight the Capitals hosted their annual VIP Season-Ticket Holder Reception at Lucky Strike adjacent to Verizon Center. As you can tell from the photo above, this included players like Nicklas Backstrom trying their hand at some bowling. The VIP Reception is just one of several events the Capitals host during the year to recognize and reward season-ticket holders, with the VIP designation referring to folks in the 1st two rows at ice level, and the Acela Club Ledge.
Alex Ovechkin, Nicklas Backstrom, Mike Green, Troy Brouwer, and Michal Neuvirth were joined by Hall of Famer Rod Langway at the event which featured autograph and photo opportunities for fans. We even spotted Joe Beninati and Elliot Segal signing some autographs. The players were also able to mingle and enjoy some bowling and billiards, with much of those antics being captured by a Caps365 video crew.
There were also some amazing door prizes for fans, including autographed jerseys from each of the players in attendance, and a red bowling pin signed by all six.
Food and beverages were of course complimentary, and the staff at Lucky Strike did a nice job keeping us all nourished. Slapshot and the Red Rockers were also on hand along with a plethora of Capitals ticket reps and other staff making sure things ran smoothly. Overall we found it an impressive event and a great way of thanking folks who invest so much time and money into the team.
