Hendricks Wraps Up USO Holiday Tour

On Tuesday, Capitals forward Matt Hendricks returned stateside after spending some time with deployed soldiers during the USO Holiday Tour. Hendricks’ travels took him to places such as Germany and Afghanistan, and he was even recognized for his hard work by General Martin Dempsey.

In an interview with Katie Carrera of the Washington Post, Hendricks opens up about his experiences with the USO Holiday Tour and sheds some light as to why he does a lot of work with military charities (his father Doug was a Marine).

I know what it’s like to be stationed somewhere far away from home during the holiday season and what Hendricks did is selfless. Capitals Outsider thanks Matt Hendricks for his work with the USO Holiday Tour and hopes he continues his work with veterans and their families.
