Happy Birthday, Tomas Kundratek!

For most of the Capitals Outsider readership, Tomas Kundratek isn’t exactly a household name.  He’s the latest addition to the Bears blueline, acquired in a trade with the Rangers back in early November for Francois Bouchard (RW).  So far, the move has looked good for both the Bears and Kundratek – he’s already passed the halfway mark toward his 2010-11 point total (12) in just 16 games with the Bears.

Normally, this is the part of the article where we’d suggest a hypothetical birthday present (good health, league-leading status, etc).  But being the go-getter that he is, Tomas took care of that himself 2:35 into tonight’s game against the Baby Pens.  Braden Holtby provided a strong supporting role in the event, as well, blocking all 28 shots sent in his direction.  After all, who could ask for more than the game-winning goal in a 6-0 shutout victory over the franchise rivals?
