Matt Hendricks vs. Matt Beleskey

From HockeyFights.com, Matt Hendricks vs. Matt Beleskey

Matt Hendricks squared off against Matt Beleskey of Anaheim on Tuesday. It was a relatively lame fight and only the second of the season for the Capitals, the first being the now-famous Jay Beagle fight against Arron Asham.

We’ve come to expect fights like this from Henrdicks, ones that most likely ‘just happen’ in the heat of the moment, and aren’t necessarily meant to send a message or change the momentum of the game (which was 0-0 at the time at 6:10 of the first period). It was also against a relative middleweight, the young Beleskey, who racked up most of his fighting majors in the OHL and AHL. It appears the two just collided in the boards, and both feeling the time was ripe for a good ole’ fight, dropped the gloves. Beleskey was still wearing his visor, which etiquette says you’re supposed to remove before fighting, but obviously didn’t have time since this was such a quick fight to unfold.
