Join Us Saturday for a High Five Sweepstakes

Before Saturday’s big match-up against the Detroit Red Wings, the folks at Capital One Bank will be hosting a “High Five for 5X” Sweepstakes, and I’ve been recruited to judge the event. My qualifications include the fact that I’m still likely to High Five you in the stands after a goal, instead of the more modern fist bump. I’ll be joined on the judging panel by Washington’s most famous #5, (nope, not Donovan McNabb) the “Secretary of Defense,” Rod Langway. You may also know him as the Hall of Fame defenseman who served as Capitals’ Captain, and won two Norris trophies. We’ll also be joined on the panel by Holden Kushner from 106.7 The Fan.

So what is a “High Five for 5x” Sweepstakes?

Participants can perform an original “High Five” and receive a score from 1 to 5X from a panel of judges. One winner who enters the sweepstakes will receive five Capitals tickets to an upcoming game.

Sounds easy enough doesn’t it? They’ll even have some big red foam hands available to pad you from impact and prevent injury. To help you in your preparation for the event, I’ve presented a collection of Awkward High Fives to Avoid. The competition takes place at The Greene Turtle Sports Bar & Grille’s Verizon Center location on Saturday from 4:30 to 6:30pm, and I look forward to judging your High Five skills.

Capital One Bank is promoting its new High Yield Checking account by highlighting the excitement of competitive sports with a pre-game “High Five” sweepstakes at this weekend’s Washington Capitals game, in addition to an online “High Five” photo sweepstakes. Both give fans the chance to enter and win “five times the tickets” (five tickets) to a DC-area professional or collegiate sports game in recognition of Capital One Bank’s new High Yield Checking account, which earns at least five times the national average interest on checking.
