Happy Birthday, Mike Green!

Still-relatively-young gun Mike Green turns 26 today, leading the rest of us to wonder what we’ve accomplished lately. So what do you get as a birthday gift for your 26-year-old buddy whose ridiculously sweet apartment has already been featured on Cribs and whose car is so nice that you couldn’t even afford an appropriate air freshener?

You don’t.

What do you do?

You throw him a party.

That’s right, in lieu of an imaginary-yet-somehow-still-unaffordable gift, I’m throwing Mike Green a make-believe birthday party. The theme? Battle of the Bands.

Mike Green is among several Caps who are metal fans, and as it turns out, D.C. has quite the local metal scene going. So without further ado, here’s the invitation to Mike Green’s (fake, please don’t show up) birthday party:

WHO: Not you. Please don’t show up. Again, this is a fake party. But don’t worry, if it were real you’d be invited.

WHAT: D.C. Metal Battle of the Bands to celebrate Mike Green’s birthday

WHEN: Wednesday, October 12, 2011, because even though the Caps play at Pittsburgh tomorrow, this is still an awesome idea.

WHERE: 9:30 Club, and yes, I needed someone else’s help to come up with that.

WHY: To get Mike Green pumped up for a great year and a great season. Happy Birthday!
