Around the NHL in 30 Days: Montreal Habs

As a Caps fan, I’m still in shock about the series a couple of years ago when the Montreal Canadiens came back from a 3-1 series deficit and defeated the top-seeded Capitals in the first round. Somehow, that stings worse than the 4-0 series loss to Tampa Bay last year. Maybe it’s because the Caps clearly weren’t the better team against Tampa, while a single player – Jaroslav Halák – doomed the Caps against Montreal.

Well, Halák was gone from Montreal last season and the Habs had a better regular season than the year prior, yet lost in the first round (in 7 games) to Boston. So it’s hard to tell exactly which direction this team is moving in. Fansided’s A Winning Habit can tell you a lot more. Check out their preview.
