The oldest player on the Capitals, forward Mike Knuble, is 39 today. Knuble, of Toronto, has another season left on his contract with the Caps.

Our favorite player on the team, Matt Bradley, has signed with the Florida Panthers after six seasons in Washington. We wish him farewell and look forward to seeing him in return to Washington for games. Here are some of our favorite Bradley moments.

Rumors and reports were swirling yesterday that Semyon Varlamov was on his way back to Russia to play in the KHL. Today, he was traded to the Colorado Avalanche for draft picks. This is not the worst news in the world for Capitals fans since Michal Neuvirth and Braden Holtby are destined for stardom, though there is chatter that the Caps may pick up a veteran goaltender.
