Being a Caps fan can be confusing. Sometimes it’s just completely overwhelming. Folks may come to you, ready to talk hockey, and you’ll be just fine until they start busting out the really tough questions. Questions like, “Who’s your favorite player?” Yikes. That’s a toughie. Your answer has to be so many things! It has to be a name. Of a player. Who plays or played for this team. And to prove you’re not making it up (because let’s be real, a lot of hockey names sound made up), you have to back that choice up with an explanation.
Thankfully, I’ve put together the following flow chart. Start in the middle, and make selections to guide you to your favorite Caps player. Keep it with you so that the next time you’re under the gun, you can say “My favorite player is Nicklas Backstrom. I like him because he is a current player who is a forward who grows a bad beard and will pass instead of shoot.” People will be wowed by your preparedness.
