John Erskine vs. Jared Boll

From hockeyfights.com, Cap John Erskine squared off with Blue Jacket Jared Boll during the first period Thursday in a bout that took forever to unfold (reminiscent of a D.J. King fight), before the two threw multiple hay-makers and eventually landed on the ice.

Erskine only played one shift for the rest of the game, but Coach Bruce Boudreau said Erskine’s injury had nothing to do with the fight. Ted Leonsis, among several others, didn’t agree that Erskine should have fought, while On Frozen Blog got Jason Chimera’s take on the incident.
