We Almost Turned Off the TV Box Score
We’ve seen this a couple times this season. The Caps stink it up in one or more games, then appear to continue that trend with a lackluster start before rallying for a victory. Then some of us point to it as a ‘turning point’ after a couple of victories before they get shut out again. Anywho, the Caps beat the Islanders, 3-2, Saturday, after going down 2-0, and only one night after a pathetic 6-0 loss to the Rangers at home. SI Calls Ovechkin a ‘Falling Star’
In an article titled “Falling Star,” Sports Illustrated writer Brian Cazeneuve gives ‘anecdotal evidence’ that the league has ‘figured out’ Capitals star Alex Ovechkin by being more physical. Cazeneuve’s proof? Ovechkin started a fight with Brandon Dubinsky in a loss to the Rangers Dec. 12. He took a knee-to-knee hit from Matt Cooke against the Penguins recently.
