Celebrating a Semin Hat Trick

Using his stick like a magic wand, Alex Semin dazzled the Verizon Center crowd Saturday by netting the first three Washington goals, and uncharacteristically stuck around the locker room for a postgame interview (translated by Russian reporter Slava Malamud).

“I was just trying to get my stick on the puck and make sure it winds up in the net. How many times can you try to get around guys? I was just trying not to think about it and just {shoot} it.”

(Also uncharacteristically, Alex Ovechkin did not stick around the locker room after the game. Nick Backstrom came out, but only spoke to a Swedish reporter.)

But the most important part of a hat trick? As always, the crowd’s celebration. More amazing photos of hats on the ice after the jump.
