Sloan, Alzner Face Off Against Students

Washington Capitals Karl Alzner and Tyler Sloan gave students at Lanier Middle School in Fairfax a lesson in playing hockey Monday, as about 160 kids stayed after school for a hockey skills clinic with the two defensemen.

Sloan, 29, said that the success of the Capitals is making hockey more popular in the area, and that a demonstration such as the one he and Alzner did on Monday would go a long way.
