Nyjer Morgan – Hockey Star

Morgan, signing autographs at a Capitals game in Jan. 2010.

After Stephen Strasburg’s injury suddenly made baseball in D.C. boring again, Nyjer Morgan made it interesting in an otherwise lost season by inciting a bench-clearing brawl with the Marlins this past week. So, naturally, the media focus on Morgan’s stint with hockey (never mind that many other fights have happened in baseball involving players who have never seen a hockey game).

Here’s a good video of him with the WHL’s Regina Pats, where he played seven games, scored two goals and earned 20 penalty minutes. Worth the watch for any Nats fan.
