Ovechkin Crushes Jagr

Alex Ovechkin just laid out Jaromir Jagr of the Czech Republic in their Olympic match-up. The hit led to a turnover, and a 2 on 1 break with Alex Semin setting up Evgeni Malkin for the game winner. The play is definitely the highlight of the Olympic Hockey Tournament so far, and featured a disappointing former Capital getting crushed by the new face of the franchise :

    I was at the game, I saw the hit, it was awesome
    but and it did lead to the malkin goal, but it was not the game winner

    The goal which provides the ultimate edge for one team over the other is considered the game winner. All other subsequent goals do not matter for this. In this case, since the Czechs scored 2 goals, the third goal for the Russians was the game winner. If the Czechs have scored one more, the fourth by the Russians would have been the game winner. And so on…
