Knuble Out 3-4 Weeks; Caps Hurry Out to Catch Plane

Capitals forward Mike Knuble won’t be making the trip to Jersey as he broke his finger Friday night in a 3-1 win against Minnesota. It happened in the first period during the power play as he crashed into the Wild net. The Capitals wouldn’t say which finger or which hand.

Almost immediately following the game, the equipment was packed and the players, staff and coaches were off to New Jersey. Defenseman Brian Pothier, who got the game-winner early in the third period, spent an extended period of time answering questions, and wasn’t even out of his skates when other players had already showered and dressed. Pothier is one of a just a few Capitals who regularly sticks around the locker room for the media.
