Ovechkin and Green in the Press Box (Photos)
Alex Ovechkin and Mike Green are watching tonight’s game from the Press Box, instead of the Ice. Both players were held out of the contest against the Florida Panthers due to “Upper Body” injuries. The young pair’s presence in the box is creating quite a stir for the fans seated in front of them, as they continuously stand up, wave, and take pictures. Hopefully for the Capitals, these two can get back to creating a stir on the ice sometime soon. Additional photos after the jump.
Update #1 : Mike Green posted a photo of his own :

Update #2 : At the end of the 2nd period I happened to be walking down the hallway behind the pair of stars. Ovechkin pointed to a picture on the wall of himself celebrating a goal by jumping into Green’s arms, and the two shared a laugh together. Yeah, this is getting pretty close to stalking. No visible signs of shoulder straps or braces on either player, although Ovie does appear to be significantly broader then Green.

If the word I’m hearing from a certain poster is correct, you’ll be seeing a lot of Ovi in the press box this month. Dmitry Chesnokov says the doctor won’t let him skate for another week and then it would take another week or so for him to get in game shape. So, I predict it’s LTIR for Ovi.
November 7th, 2009 at 11:10 pmI saw Mike and Schultzie in the press box. We’re in 421, and Schultz sat on the right side by himself for almost the entire game. We felt sorry for him.
November 8th, 2009 at 10:51 amI thought he might have been there, just figured he tripped on his own feet and fell to the ground right before I took the picture.
