Who is the Best Fighter in Capitals History?

With Donald Brashear gone, the Capitals will be going without a true enforcer for the coming season. Now, let’s look back at some of the best fighters in Caps history and vote on our favorites:

Alan May. During his almost five seasons with the Capitals, his gritty, hard-nosed style of play made him a fan favorite.
vs. Craig Berube

Nick Kypreos. Began his pro career in Washington in 89-90. Also played for the Baltimore Skipjacks.

vs. Ken Daneyko

Donald Brashear. The veteran came to the Caps in the 06-07 season in a locker room full of young guns.
vs. Riley Cote

Craig Berube. Very much hated by Washington fans when he played for the Flyers, he became a Cap himself in 93-94 until 98-99, went back Philadelphia, and then returned to the Caps in 00-01.
vs. Mick Vukota

Enrico Ciccone. Played twice in Washington. In 374 NHL games, he scored 10 goals, had 18 assists, and amassed 1,469 penalty minutes.
vs. Kirk Tomlinson (sorry, couldn’t find any Caps videos of him)

John Kordic. This guy racked up 101 penalty minutes in his 7 games with the Caps. That’s almost 15 a game, or nearly 1,200 minutes a season! Sadly, Kordic is mostly remembered for dying at 27 of a cocaine overdose.
vs. Jay Caufield

Stephen Peat. Played mainly between 01 and 04, he quickly became a fan favorite despite limited time on the roster.
vs. P.J. Stock

Here’s a great Caps vs. Flyers fight:

Honorable mentions: Dale Hunter, Don Beaupre.
