Varlamov Fan Club
As the Capitals get ready to face the New York Rangers in the 2nd game of the series, I ventured out into the concourse to meet some fans, where I found these two gentleman. Jose Theodore had a rough outing on Wednesday night, and there was talk that we might see his backup, Simeon Varlamov. As I type this, Varlamov is taking warm-ups, and it looks like he will indeed be the surprise starter this afternoon. Meet Lore Levitt, and Andrew Solow, possibly the first two members of the Simeon Varlamov fanclub. I am sure they are both hoping that the rookie comes through, justifying their investment. As you can see, Lore’s jersey is even autographed by the young Russian. He told me that Simeon was quite surprised to see his own jersey on a fan at practice. After today, there may be a few more members to this exclusive club.
(UPDATE : Varlamov is indeed making his playoff debut)
WOW Varlamov! You’re 20 years old and doing THIS!? What a talent you have. Continue doing well and don’t let anyone bring you down…haha even Avery. You’re going to be one of the best goaltenders we have ever seen. Good luck and God Bless.
